Besides being a spice, salt is also used in medical purposes.
We present the benefits of salt that will help solving many health problems.
1. Allergies and sinus inflammation
Salt is a real solution to the irritated mucosa. Boil 2 to 3 dl of water, and then add salt to the water, making it approximately salt as a sea (not over salted). Leave to cool at room temperature and then transfer it to a nose drop bottle. Spritz the resulting solution in your nose twice a day.
2. Throat pain
Make a mixture of 1 teaspoon of salt and 2. 5 dl of water and stir until the salt is melted. Gargle several times a day using this solution.
3. Painful and sensitive gums
Make a solution using one teaspoon of salt and 1 dl of warm water. Gargle with the mixture as often as possible.
4. Swollen legs
Prepare bath for the feet which will reduce the swelling of the joints and will rest your legs. Pour hot water into a bowl and add 4 tablespoons of juice and a few drops of essential oil of eucalyptus, lavender or mint. Leave your feet in the pot around 30 minutes.
5. Oral cavity burns
If you ate something pungent or hot, make a solution of half teaspoon of salt and 2 ounces of lukewarm water and gargle every 30 minutes.
To relieve toothache, rinse your mouth with a solution of 1 dl of warm water, 2 tablespoons of vinegar and 1 teaspoon of salt. Keep in mind that this is a temporary solution before you visit your dentist.
7. Insect sting
Salt has the ability to relieve pain and reduce swelling at the sting of a bee or other insect. Make a thick paste of salt and water. Apply it on the sting spot and leave it to stand until completely dry. The salt will calm the irritation of the skin and reduce pain.
