Doctor Claudio brazilian Vanderlei has devised a test that can predict how long people will live, according to rd.com. The test was created as a result of a study which showed that many patients, especially older ages, had problems to do simple movements, as well as to bend over to pick up something off the floor. This happens because as we move forward, muscles are weakening and we lose balance easier, while making us an increased risk of falls.
What should you do?
1. stay barefoot in an open space.
2. Let yourself down, until you sit down on the floor. Be careful that you don’t get help from your hands and feet to move, trying to keep his balance.
3. Get up without help of hands or move their feet, trying to maintain balance.
When you sit down: the maximum score is 5 points, but should you drop a point every time when you use the hands or legs for support. Subtracts half-point if you lose your balance.
When you get up: you get 5 points if they get up without using hands or move your legs. Subtract one point when you violate this rule and a half point when you lose your balance.
According to the author of this test, people who receive a score of less than eight points have a risk of two times higher of dying in the next six years than those who have obtained more points.
